Campylobacter Lawsuit Information From Food Safety Lawyers
A Campylobacter lawsuit may be filed after a person has been sickened with Campylobacter bacteria by contaminated food. Contact a Campylobacter lawyer today to discuss your case.
Campylobacter is a bacteria commonly associated with raw or undercooked poultry. One does not have to consume that poultry to become sick. Campylobacter bacteria can easily cross-contaminate other foods too, for instance, if raw poultry product touches the lettuce that goes into a salad, a person can get sick from that salad. Food safety attorney Brendan Flaherty discusses how this happened in a Campylobacter case he handled, and also discusses the complications that can arise from Campylobacter food poisoning, such as Guillain-Barré Syndrome. This is an autoimmune nervous system disorder that can lead to paralysis. The food safety attorneys at Pritzker Olsen are currently representing a Campylobacter victim who was paralyzed after drinking raw milk that was contaminated with this pathogen.
Raw Milk Contaminated With E. coli, Microbiologist Says
Cheese made from raw milk on Hartmann Dairy Farm in Gibbon, Minnesota was contaminated with E. coli bacteria, a microbiologist testified Wednesday. According to news reports from local media sources, “Microbiologist Bryanne Shaw said tests found E. coli in at least two cheese samples produced on the Hartmann farm.”
The southern Minnesota farm was linked this spring to a raw milk E. coli outbreak, and state officials banned sales of Hartmann products. The farm’s owner, Michael Hartmann, is asking for the ban to be lifted.
Food Safety Attorney Fred Pritzker on Raw Milk Debate
Food safety lawyer Fred Pritzker commented on Green Bay, Wisconsin’s NBC26 for a story on the debate surrounding the safety of raw milk–a debate that has been focused lately in Wisconsin. In May, Governor Jim Doyle vetoed a bill that would have legalized the sale of raw milk throughout the state.
While small farmers and the people who drink their raw milk contend that it has more health benefits than pasteurized milk, Pritzker cites the severe health risks of consuming raw milk:

Health officials had been interviewing those sickened by the E. coli 0157:H7 bacterium and determined that one common link between the food poisoning victims was that they had all had milk or other dairy products from the Hartmann farm.
