Attorney Fred Pritzker

I am a personal injury lawyer.  I represent motorcycle accident victims and their families throughout Minnesota.  One of my clients was a young woman who lost her leg in an accident involving a drunk driver.  The woman was riding behind her boyfriend when a car rammed into the back of the motorcycle.  The driver of the car had just left a bar and was DUI.

The driver of the car had insurance, but it did not adequately compensate my client.  We won a multi-million dollar recovery from the bar that had served alcohol to the driver of the car. We brought the claim against the bar under Minnesota’s dram shop law, Minnesota Statutes, Section 340.801.

Helping injured people get the money they need is what makes my job rewarding.

Accident or Injury Caused by a Defective Vehicle

In every motorcycle case we take on, we look at the wreckage (the motorcycle and all vehicles involved in the accident) and determine if a defective part caused the accident. If a defective part is involved, the manufacturer of the part would be liable (legally responsible to compensate the bicycle accident victim).

We won over $3 million dollars for a man who lost his leg after an accident with a recalled competition motorcycle.  The man crashed during a competition and crushed his leg.  The injuries were so severe that the leg eventually had to be amputated below the knee.

Motorcycle and Semi Trailer Accident Injury or Death

Motorcycle-semi-trailer accident cases are expensive to litigate, and our law firm has the resources to take on trucking companies and insurance companies. If you hire a law firm that can’t afford to pursue your case as needed, you won’t be adequately compensated. Our law firm uses the latest technology and experienced expert witnesses to obtain the best results for our clients. Our investigators dig until we are satisfied that there is nothing else to find. Our lawyers pursue evidence through every possible legal channel, flying to corporate headquarters, if necessary, to make sure we get every relevant document and get the testimony of everyone who has relevant information.

Amputation

If an accident or trauma results in complete amputation (the body part is totally severed), the part sometimes can be reattached, especially when proper care is taken of the severed part and stump.

In a partial amputation, some soft-tissue connection remains. Depending on the severity of the injury, the partially severed extremity may or may not be able to be reattached.

There are various complications associated with amputation of a body part. The most important of these are bleeding, shock, and infection.

Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

Spinal fractures and injuries are generally defined by the spinal area that is injured:

  • Cervical (vertebrae – C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7)
  • Thoracic (vertebrae – T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T9, T10, T11, T12)
  • Lumbar (vertebrae – L1, L2, L3, L4, L5)

Spinal cord injuries usually begin with a blow that fractures or dislocates your vertebrae, the bone disks that make up your spine. Most injuries don’t sever your spinal cord. Instead, they cause damage when pieces of vertebrae tear into cord tissue or press down on the nerve parts that carry signals. In a complete spinal cord injury, the cord can’t relay messages below the level of the injury. As a result, you are paralyzed below the level of injury. In an incomplete injury, you have some movement and sensation below the injury.

Types of spinal fractures include the following:

  • Compression fracture
  • Burst fracture
  • Flexion distraction fracture
  • Seat belt fracture
  • Rotational fracture
  • Shear fracture
  • Wedge fracture
  • Fracture dislocation

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

If you want adequate compensation for your traumatic brain injury, you need a lawyer with experience in this area. Attorneys Fred Pritzker, Eric Hageman and Elliot Olsen all speak at legal seminars about TBI litigation, i.e., these three are lawyers that other attorneys look to for advice.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI), a form of acquired brain injury, occurs when a sudden trauma causes damage to the brain. TBI can result when the head suddenly and violently hits an object, or when an object pierces the skull and enters brain tissue.

Serious TBI complications can include the following:

  • Inability to think clearly
  • Amnesia
  • Paralysis (paraplegia or quadriplegia)
  • Emotional problems (irritability, depression)
  • Slurred speech
  • Inability to speak or form words
  • Numbness in limbs
  • Loss of bowel control
  • Coma
  • Epilepsy or seizures
  • Death
